A huge congratulations to our wonderful Year 11 and 12 Visual Art students this year, on their creativity, passion and willingness to learn and explore.
We are lucky to have our Year 11 students work on display as well as Year 12 final works, and we can really see the talent and passion coming through the ranks. Here are some special works we would like to acknowledge.
Year 11- Exhibition Prize – Nick Garner - Video
Year 11 - Consistent and Considered Prize-
Grace Stewart
Year 11- Rising Star- Maeve Pierce
It is a night where we celebrate the Visual Arts, in all its wonderful messiness, zaniness and passion. We highly value the Arts at Sacred Heart, and we are so proud to have presented this wonderful exhibition.
The students have been lucky to work under the guidance of Ms Sullivan this year, who has pushed them when they need to be pushed, revved them up when they need to be revved up, supported them when they need to be supported.
Every year we award a few special prizes. Those who have shone academically will be awarded prizes in end of year assemblies, however because The Arts is not just all about the grades and can be about that something special, we like to acknowledge some of the work that really shines for us with a number of awards.
Exhibition Prize- The work that shines in exhibition. Jasmine Gledhill… your vivacious green angel of feminism really has become the star of the show. I want to congratulate you on your bravery in bringing this work to life.
Acquisition Prize- Each year we purchase a piece of student artwork for the College collection. This year the Acquisition Prize was awarded to Dean Allan for his painting Megalophobia. Congratulations Dean!
