On Friday 14 August a team of Year 8 girls travelled to Broadmeadows to compete in a fun day of basketball. The girls started strong with a win against MRC and only improved as the day continued. A large win against Wallan solidified our spot in the grand final, where the girls played Hume Grammar, fighting to the end and finishing the day with a well deserved win. We now progress to the next round. A special shout out to each of the girls.
The girls showed team spirit all day and represented SHC wonderfully. Good job girls!

The Year 8 boys had an outstanding tournament, starting with an impressive 4–0 record and making it all the way to the final, where they narrowly went down by just five points.
Hayden Affleck was a standout leader, showing excellent leadership, ability and setting a great example for the team. Lewis Chettle and Zayne Van Derr Kran were instrumental in anchoring the defence, providing strength and composure at the back. Jax Reid showed pure dominance throughout the tournament, while John Akul’s playmaking ability consistently created opportunities for his teammates. Alex Crabtree has made a huge improvement from last year, showing great development and confidence. Percy Snelling was a key contributor with his scoring, and Lewis Lethbridge impressed with his all-around ability and consistency.
A special mention also goes to Lachlan Paag for his outstanding coach board-getting ability, making sure the coach never had to go without a board throughout the day. Overall, it was a fantastic day for the boys, and they should be extremely proud of their effort, improvement and team spirit.

Our Divisional Athletics Carnival was a great day filled with plenty of competition, school spirit and fun. It was awesome to see so many students getting involved, cheering each other on and giving their best across the different events.
We were very proud to represent SHC at the divisional level in Epping! Everyone represented the school with enthusiasm, and it was a great opportunity to come together, support our peers and enjoy the sunny day! Thank you to all of the teachers who helped us get there and go SHC!!

On 12 August, our Year 9/10 soccer team showcased incredible skill and determination at the inter-school tournament, starting strong with a dominant 6–0 victory over Roxburgh College. Despite a hard-fought, tight 1–2 loss to Melbourne Girls College in our second match, the squad bounced back in incredible fashion to shut out St Helena 9–0 in the final game. Finishing the day with a massive 16 goals scored and only 2 conceded, the girls represented SHC with immense grit, teamwork, and passion.
