Year 7 RE
Year 7s have been busy creating visual representations of one of Jesus’ parables, as a part of their study of ‘Responding to the Good News’ in their RE classes. In completing this assessment task, students learned how to navigate their Bibles, how to understand the message of a Parable, and how these messages are still relevant for today’s audience.
Well done Year 7s! Please take a look at some examples of their excellent and creative work.
Year 11 RE
“Who is my neighbour?” This is a question that Year 11 RE students have been exploring, as a part of their recent studies focusing on the marginalised in our world, and how to respond to matters of injustice.
To deepen this concept, students heard from Ms Liz Payne, who previously worked with ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans). Ms Payne explored the concept of modern slavery in its many forms worldwide, including the scourge of human trafficking and forced marriage. Her presentation was well received by students:
“The talk on human trafficking was eye-opening and made me think about how real and close to home the issue can be. I learned how important it is to stay aware and speak up…”

We encourage parents to be in conversation with your Year 11 student about what they heard during the presentation, and what thoughts and questions it may have stirred for them.
Thank you to Ms Payne and the Year 11 RE teaching team for your important work.
