If you've spotted one of Macedon Ranges Shire Council's waste collection trucks recently, you may have noticed some artwork displayed on the side.

Congratulations to Isabella Desira (Year 10) and Madeline Desira (Year 7), whose outstanding entries were selected as winners in the Macedon Ranges Shire Council Recycling Art Competition last year.

The competition invited students from across the shire to create artwork encouraging the community to reduce waste and recycle correctly. Isabella's colourful design reminds residents to "Be an Everyday Hero" by putting waste in the correct bin, while Madeline's artwork encourages everyone to "Choose to Reuse" and highlights how every small action can make a positive difference for our environment.

Their winning designs have now been transformed into large displays on the Council's waste collection trucks, meaning thousands of residents across the Macedon Ranges will see their important environmental messages as the trucks travel throughout the shire collecting household waste.

This is a wonderful achievement and a fantastic example of our students using their creativity to inspire positive environmental action within the wider community. Their artwork reflects Sacred Heart College's commitment to sustainability, stewardship, and caring for our common home.
