High Reaches and Big Smiles: Year 10 Outdoor Rec at Gravity Worx

The Year 10 Outdoor Recreation classes recently scaled new heights during an action-packed excursion to Gravity Worx. Swapping the classroom for the climbing walls, students immersed themselves in both indoor rock climbing and bouldering. Throughout the session, the groups focused on practical skill development—from mastering harness safety to reading route holds and refining precise footwork across a variety of wall angles.

Beyond developing physical technique, the trip proved to be a fantastic exercise in confidence building and teamwork. A major highlight of the day was seeing many ambitious students step up to challenge themselves on the venue’s Olympic-style course, testing their endurance, agility, and grit. Whether tackling tough boulder problems or cheering on classmates from the floor, everyone pushed past their personal comfort zones and had an incredible time along the way.
