More information on each of these areas is provided below.
The Junior School Showcase will be held onsite. Visitors can park either in the front car parks and follow the signage to the rear of the College, or alternatively park on the basketball courts near the Quambi sports stadium, accessible via Begg St.
During Year 7 our students focus on and explore the Mercy Value 'Respect'. In doing so they develop a deep understanding of how respect is connected and essential to their relationships, learning and the school environment. The Year 7's work in Project Respect has been divided into three areas - a class campaign to learn about what makes successful relationships at Sacred Heart, an individual reflection on their start to secondary school in a portfolio called ‘My Learning Journey’ and involvement in an environment survey focusing on our College grounds, to aid data collection in support of our sustainability goals.
The MAD Inquiry Project is a significant part of the Year 8 students study of Religious Education. This project invites students to choose an environmental or social issue to research and investigate across a four month period, in their Religious Education classes. The project aims to encourage students to learn about an issue while also identifying ways that they can each can Make a Difference, whether this be through informing others about the issue at a local or community level, or making steps towards improvement or change. Ultimately it reminds us that there are many ways that individuals can Make a Difference.
The Year 9 Expo Project is a longstanding tradition at Sacred Heart College. Each year, students pursue an area of their own passion and interest to produce project items that celebrate their unique gifts and talents. The project fosters skills in planning, time-management, and design, with the presentation evening at the Junior School Showcase being a celebration of all that has been achieved. On the night of the showcase, you can expect to find Quambi (the College sports centre) and the Atrium full to capacity with refurbished furniture, remodelled cars, upcycled fabrics, original photography and works of art, an array of handmade items and everything else in between. It's an experience not to be missed!
