Catholic Identity

As a Catholic school, we are responsible for nurturing Christian values within our students, reflecting our Mercy tradition.

Faith Development & Worship

Sacred Heart College, imbued with the spirit of Catherine McAuley, strives to live out the Mercy Values of Justice, Compassion, Respect, Hospitality and Courage. In this Year of Mercy we pay attention to be more merciful, more forgiving, more compassionate and more loving in showing Mercy to others[1].

Prayer and worship are practised as part of daily College life and we celebrate the Eucharist throughout the year in year levels and as a whole College community.

Sacred Heart College is blessed to have our Chaplains, Fr Declan from Our Lady of the Rosary (Kyneton), Fr Martin from St Ambrose (Woodend),  Fr Vinoth from St Brigid’s (Gisborne) and Fr Wahid from St Mary’s (Castlemaine). In this capacity, our Chaplains celebrate the Eucharist and Reconciliation for the College Community. They also assist through active involvement on Retreats and Reflection Days as required. The College is extremely well served sacramentally and spiritually by our Chaplains.

Our College is a vibrant community whereby our students, staff, families and wider community have the opportunity to live out their faith and nourish their spiritual selves under our rich Catholic and Mercy ritual and traditions.
