Last week we welcomed Geelong AFLW player and past School Captain (2008), Kate Darby, to assist in the running of a football clinic for students in Year 7. Kate was invited to return by students completing their VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) studies. The event formed part of the students’ Personal Development Skills program which challenges them to plan and manage all stages of an activity of choice.
Following the clinic Kate spoke to students giving them an insight into her journey to the elite levels of this sport. Thanks to the preparation and planning of the organising students the day was a fantastic success with the Year 7 students gaining much from the experience.
